North Canton City Schools Board of Education Approves Land Swap with City of North Canton

The North Canton City Schools Board of Education approved a land swap agreement with the City of North Canton at its July 15, 2026 Regular Meeting. This agreement reflects a strong partnership between the City and the School District for the benefit of both organizations and the entire community.
Under the agreement, the City of North Canton will receive the current North Canton Middle School property on Fair Oaks SW and the Orchard Hill Intermediate property on Jonathan Avenue SW. In return, North Canton City Schools will receive the Dogwood Pool property on 7th Street NE in 2030. The City will also add a third lane to 7th Street NE between Wise Avenue NE and Park Street NE making streetscape improvements similar to those completed on Charlotte Street NW near North Canton Primary School.
This partnership enables both the City and the School District to acquire land adjacent to existing properties at no cost, creating opportunities for more efficient planning and future development. The improvements to 7th Street NE will enhance access and safety around the new middle school building while supporting the continued development of the entire 7th Street campus.
Most importantly, this agreement demonstrates a shared commitment to making the best use of community resources while creating opportunities for the continued growth and success of North Canton for years to come.
