Hoover High School National Merit Finalist Troy Seacrist
Hoover High School is proud to congratulate senior Troy Seacrist on advancing as a National Merit Finalist in the 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program! Out of more than 1.3 million students nationwide who entered the competition by taking the 2024 PSAT, only about 15,000 students (roughly 1%) earned Semifinalist status, with approximately 6,930 Finalists selected nationwide to receive scholarships (announced between April and July).
Troy plans to attend Miami University to study Data Science and Statistics, with the goal of pursuing a career in actuarial sciences.
A dedicated musician, Troy has been part of NCCS Band since 5th grade, playing trumpet in band, Jazz Band, and multiple small ensembles. He has also showcased his natural aptitude for math by competing in numerous math competitions with NCCS teams.
Troy has been active in French Club since his freshman year and expanded his involvement during his junior and senior years to include Track, eSports, and TEAMS.
Hoover High School and North Canton City Schools celebrate Troy’s hard work, talent, and determination along with the educators and staff who have supported him at NCCS since kindergarten.
