Through a United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA) program, ALL North Canton City
School students can receive free meals, regardless of household
income. Students who are attending school in person or Viking Online can are
eligible for one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day.Students in all buildings have been offered school breakfast
and school lunch at no charge since the program became effective on September 8.
In addition, we were able to refund any meal charges back to August 24, the
first day of school. On October 9, U.S.
Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced the extension of all Summer
Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waivers, allowing
schools to offer meals to all children at no charge through the end of the
2020-2021 school year. North Canton City Schools Food Service
Department will be reimbursed for the meals by the USDA with funds
appropriated.
- Menus for our in-person students can be
found on the school district website (https://www.northcantonschools.org) under
Departments, Food Services, then click on the menus. Second entrees, extra milk
and additional ala carte items are not free under this program.
- For Viking Online learners, free meal packages are available each Tuesday which includes breakfasts and lunches for the school week. Meals are available for pick up at Hoover High School between 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday. To sign up for the Tuesday meals, please contact Jill Lauter at [email protected]
