Orchard Hill and the North Canton City School District have been named Momentum Award winners by the Ohio Department of Education. This award is based on results from the 2016-17 school year. The Momentum Award is presented by the State Board of Education and recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement, and students with disabilities. The ODE announced that 218 school buildings in Ohio will receive this recognition based on results from the 2016-17 school year and only seven school buildings in Stark County. Orchard Hill is one of them.
