Kennedy to Leave NCCS to Spend Time With Family
North Canton, OH (March 13, 2015)
Assistant Superintendent Debra Kennedy plans to leave North Canton City Schools at the end of July, saying she is looking forward to spending more time with her young grandchildren. The district will be looking to fill the Assistant Superintendent role this summer.
“Of course, we will miss her deeply,” said Superintendent Michael Hartenstein. “She has made great contributions to the district in her time here, not the least of which has been her passion for improving the professional development of our staff.”
“It is just that my kids keep having babies and the Grandma side of me wants to see them grow up and help out!” Kennedy laughed.
In her letter to the North Canton City Schools Board of Education, Kennedy thanked them “for the opportunity to work with the amazing staff, students, and community in North Canton.”
Kennedy plans to continue her work in education through private consulting services. The Stark County Educational Service Center governing board accepted Kennedy’s resignation, effective July 31, on Thursday. North Canton City Schools has employed Kennedy through the educational service center since 2013.
