Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts I
Junior Year
During the junior year, students rotate through eleven job stations in the lab including both the kitchen and the Tri-Star Cafe. The student-run restaurant is located in the K Hallway. Students learn the basics of working in a restaurant - customer service, basic food preparation and presentation, recipes from scratch.

Culinary Arts II
Senior Year
In the second year, students study menu planning, catering, marketing and management techniques. They continue to train and hone their skills in the kitchen. They work as a team with their classmates creating the style, ambiance, and organization of the restaurant for the year, daily specials, soups, and desserts.

The Tri Star Restaurant
The learning lab for the Culinary Arts program is located in the K Hallway at Hoover High School. The food is made from scratch, prepared by the students in the program, and served in the student-run restaurant.
