Agape Girls Promoting Stronger Attitudes With Positive Peer Pressure
Junior and senior girls mentor 7th grade girls in an effort to promote positive behaviors and attitudes toward themselves and others.
Agape Girls is a mentoring group of junior and senior girls who go to the middle school to work with the seventh-grade girls in the hopes of reducing the relational aggression that is so common among girls that age. The high school girls who are involved in this group do an amazing job of displaying healthy interrelationships and in many ways, improve their own relationships as they see the positive outcomes of their efforts. Junior and senior girls must apply to become members of Agape Girls and must obtain two teacher recommendations. Selections are based on the teacher recommendations and the student's essay on the application.
