Academic Booster Club Promoting Stronger Scholars
The Hoover Academic Booster Club was established in 1992 by Hoover High School parents to promote, encourage, and recognize academic achievement and good citizenship in all Hoover students. This is done in both big and small ways. The Hoover Academic Booster Club:
- supports and awards at least 8 scholarships each year. Past scholarships awarded have been for academics, most improved GPA and scholar athletes.
- awards an Academic letter or bar (if the student had already achieved a letter) to those students achieving a weighted GPA of 3.75 and above for the previous school year. These awards are handed out at a ceremony held in the fall of each year.
- awards "A", "A/B", "GPA" & "Norseman" cards to students holding GPAs of specific levels. These cards allow the students many perks including rebates on dance tickets and parking, VIP parking and coupons to local retailers. "A" card holders are also eligible for an independent study day.
- has a monthly drawing for students who have maintained a 3.0 weighted GPA for the previous semester. These prizes are gift cards to local businesses with a value of $5.
If you are looking for a way to be involved in the High School, we would love to have you join us. We meet at Hoover High School's Tri-Star Cafe on the second Friday of each month at 11:00 am. Lunch is prepared by the culinary students. In addition to monthly updates from Mr. Pallija and the guidance department, we are often joined by guest speakers of Hoover High School and the District Office staff who update us on what’s happening behind the scenes at Hoover.
