Health and Safety

NCCS Safety Statement August 2022
At North Canton City Schools, we continue to focus on safety for students and staff as we prepare to begin the 2022-2023 school year. We have many safety measures in place at every school building and School Resource Officers from the North Canton Police Department who are present during the school day.
With Governor Mike DeWine signing House Bill 99 into law in June, we have been asked by some of our residents if our school district will permit teachers to carry guns in the classroom after they have completed training by Ohio law. At this time, North Canton City Schools will be relying on our armed police and School Resource Officers for lethal weapons use if necessary. We feel we have the measures that provide a safe environment for students and staff members already in place.
We will continue to be diligent in keeping our school buildings and facilities secured and will continue to review protocols and tools.  It is critical that all of our students and staff are engaged in our safety plan and that they share any and all information regarding potential issues.   Anyone can do so with voice or text through our safety tip line at 1-844-5-SAYNOW or at this website.
