March 31, 2020

Dear parents and students:

I hope you and your family are healthy and well.  Thank you for a strong start to our remote learning status.  We understand there are many questions, and we thank you for your patience as we move forward. As we receive guidance from the state and federal levels, we will continue to both create plans and modify our operations.

Remote Learning

Governor DeWine extended the order for schools to remain in a remote learning status through May 1, 2020.  This order may be extended at a later date.  As we work through the next few weeks we will share information and clarifications as soon as possible.  Please communicate via email with your child’s teachers if you have specific questions pertaining to remote learning work.  When contacting them, please mention your child’s name and grade level as they may have anywhere from 25 to 175 students depending upon the grade level.

WIFI Access

If you or someone you know does not have internet access at home please let them know we have set up our north parking lot (Senior lot near door #22) at Hoover High School to have WiFi coverage.    Chromebooks should respond to the signal as if they were inside one of our buildings.  We thank our tech team for their work to provide this service to those who may have limited or no home access.

Technology Issues

Our tech team has set up a webpage at for students and parents for troubleshooting tech issues.  The district office is open 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, for Chromebook exchange and other tech support.

Food Service

We thank our food service staff who have been serving breakfast and lunches to over 500 students every day.  Please see the webpage at for details.

We are one Viking Family. In times of crisis, we come together to serve our students and families. We want to thank you for your continued support of the North Canton City Schools.

Please understand that we will continue to communicate with you as quickly as possible as we move forward.

letter to parents abour remote learning
Good morning,

  • We appreciate your patience as we begin navigating the process of remote learning. Our teachers and administrators are working hard to pull together plans so that learning for all students will continue.
  • We also are grateful to our food service employees who are working hard to make certain that the students of our community have breakfast and lunch. We set up this morning at the middle school parking lot west of the building, and our staff provided meals to over 250 students before 12:00 today.
  • Please make arrangements to vote tomorrow.  Issue 16 is important for our future.

Here is voting information from Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State.  Go to to get your answers regarding the safety of voting tomorrow.
