TESTING: LOCAL AND STATE TESTING WITHIN NORTH CANTON CITY SCHOOLS
On average, Ohio has 1.6 million children in K-12 public schools. State testing, which is designed to measure student achievement includes grades 3-12 in the areas of:
  • English Language Arts
  • Mathematics (including Algebra and Geometry)
  • Science (including Biology)
  • American History and American Government
Within North Canton City Schools, students in grades K-8 also take diagnostic tests designed to monitor student achievement in the areas of Reading and Mathematics. Measures of Academic Progress, or MAP assessments are given three times throughout the school year (Fall, Winter and Spring) for classrooms teachers to become better informed of student progress.
