Hoover at the PLTW National Symposium PDF Print E-mail

pltw_logoMr. Ben Janchar was one of seven teachers nationwide in the Biomedical Sciences program selected to receive the Project Lead the Way National Symposium Student Grant.  Project Lead the Way funded all of the expenses for students from North Canton Hoover High School to attend the National Symposium in Austin, TX on November 12th through 14th.

Students presented activities and projects from Principles of Biomedical Sciences and Human Body Systems, which are the two Biomedical Science classes the school currently offers.  Activities included EKG's and human bone measurements from a forensic crime scene dealing with the Human Body Systems' Maniken.

Hoover's group of juniors including Amy Bontrager, Maggie Desrosiers, Roger Swanson and Alexa Boyle, also won first place in the Biomedical division of the student-design competition creating a working, moving toy for hurricane relief victims using a set of random supplies.  These students did a tremendous job representing North Canton City Schools on a national scene.
