June 5 – 8, 2012
- Hoover High School Gymnasium
- All boys entering grades 1-8
- Campers entering grades 5-8 will attend the morning session from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00***
- Campers entering grades 1-4 will attend the afternoon session from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00***
- ***The older group is in the morning session. This is a change from previous years***
- Campers should arrive approximately 30 minutes before the start of camp on Tuesday and 10 minutes before camp each day thereafter. Campers should come prepared with gym shoes, shorts, t-shirt and a water bottle.
- Cost: $60.00 per camper. Make checks payable to “Hoover Hoops”.
- Each session will include age-appropriate instruction on the fundamental skills of the game.
- Instruction will be given by Hoover Coaching Staff and Varsity/Junior Varsity Players.
- It will be a fun, competitive atmosphere and will promote good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.
- Campers receive a T-shirt, basketball and a highlight DVD of the 2011-2012 Varsity Basketball season. Campers will have a chance to compete in games and daily contests.

Hoover Girl's Basketball Camp
- For girls entering grades 3 through 8.
- June 11th-14th at Hoover High School Gymnasium.
- Incoming 3-5 grades meet from 9:00 to 11:30 and grades 6-8 meet from 1:00 to 3:30.
- The cost for the camp is $50 per camper, and $30 for each additional sibling.
- Each session will include age-appropriate instruction on the fundamental skills of the game.
- Instruction will be given by Hoover Coaching Staff and Varsity/Junior Varsity Players. It will be a fun, competitive atmosphere and will promote good sportsmanship and a positive attitude!

Tennis Camp 2012 - Ryan Shaffer, USPTA Professional, Director, Hoover Tennis Team Head Coach
- Who: Any BOY or GIRL in the NCCS ages 6-12 is invited to register. The camp is for beginner players and those who want to improve their game.
- Where: Hoover High School Tennis Courts (Located behind Hoover High School)
- When: Tuesday-Thursday, June 19, 20, and 21 (Rain date – Friday, June 22), Ages 6-8: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Ages 9-12: 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
- Cost: $40.00 for three sessions. Includes T-shirt, daily snack, and drink. All proceeds go to HHS Tennis Team.

 The North Canton City Schools Elementary Staff invites all families in the four elementary schools to come and participate together in our 5th annual PACES DAY event which is scheduled to take place again at Price Park on Saturday, May 5 beginning at 8:30a.m. PACES stands for Parents and Children Exercise Simultaneously. Families can choose to walk, jog or run together three loops of the Price Park path. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult to participate. All children will receive a participation ribbon and each family will receive an Achievement Certificate. At the conclusion of the walk, each registered individual will receive a healthy snack and water. The event will take place rain or shine. It will only be cancelled in the event of a thunderstorm. Participants must register by completing the form that was sent home with each student. Additional forms are available at each North Canton Elementary. This annual event is being funded this year by the Clearmount, Greentown, Northwood and Orchard Hill PTA/PTO’s. Additional donations are being provided by: Raisin Rack, ACME Click’s, Giant Eagle, and Fisher Foods. For more information, contact your elementary school.

The Board of Governors is pleased to announce that this year’s Education Endowment Fund Recognition Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, in the Hoover High School Commons beginning at 6:00 P.M. Following dinner, this year’s Endowment Grant Winners will give a short presentation on their award-winning projects. The Endowment Board will then present this year’s Recognition Awards to the following individuals:
- Barb Kirby, secretary at the Early Childhood Center
- Marylin Hlass, retired teacher of the deaf and hearing impaired
- Jeff Kreis, Hoover High School math teacher
- Lori Cochenour, parent volunteer.

 Camp Invention is returning to North Canton this summer! In partnership with Invent Now, North Canton City Schools are pleased to offer the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades one through six. This exciting, weeklong summer adventure in creativity immerses children in imaginative play that reinforces and supplements school-year learning in the subjects of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Children will work together to seek innovative solutions to real-world problems and sharpen critical 21st century learning skills such as teamwork and creative problem solving as they rotate through four modules each day that disguise learning as fun.
