We are pleased to announce that the Pinnacle Internet Viewer (PIV) is ready for use for the new school year for grades 3 through 12. The PIV is a web site that allows you to access your student's records in real-time. You can use the PIV to review attendance information, check overall academic status, and see detailed grade information for specific classes in which your student is enrolled.

Please note there are several important differences concerning the PIV for this school year. Each is explained below:

Pinnacle has been upgraded to a new version this year, which also caused a change in the web address you need to use to access the PIV. All of the links on our building websites have been updated to point to the new PIV, but if you have old shortcuts or bookmarks, you will need to change those. The new PIV address is:

Because of the upgrade to the latest version of Pinnacle, users' passwords are now required to be eight characters long. However, most North Canton students had passwords that were only seven characters long. Therefore it was necessary for us to give new passwords to any North Canton student who had a seven character long password. Instead of giving out completely new passwords, we simply added the number “1” to the end of any password that was seven characters long, to make it the needed eight character length.

For example: Cat3Dog became Cat3Dog1

If a student already had an eight character long password (such as Cat3Dark) there was no change to the password.

These new student passwords need to be used to log into the PIV. The passwords can be obtained in several ways:

• The passwords were sent home in a PIV letter.
• The students know the passwords since they use them for all our computer services.
• The main office secretaries can look up the passwords if needed.

With the new version of Pinnacle there are also some changes to the PIV. The biggest change is how you sign up for email grade notifications in the PIV. We have updated our instructions online with all the details you need to use the new system. You can access the new directions at:
